Teen Volunteer Training
2-26-2014 for 10th Annual Family Fair

Sponsors of clubs/service organizations;
We are getting close to the date of the 10th Annual Family Fair 3-22-2014 and are now lining up our teen volunteers.
We will be providing volunteer training for the teens on Wednesday, February 26th.
If you know of any sponsors that I have not included, please let them know about this training. We want to ensure every club/service group has an opportunity for community service hours.
We want all students who wish to volunteer to have an opportunity for community service hours for Family Fair setup on Friday, 3/21/14 and the day of the event – Saturday, 3/22/14.
Students not attached to any club/organization are welcome to volunteer with us as well.
All students can participate in our teen/volunteer training, which will prepare students for what is expected at Family Fair and working with children in Child Supervision.
 Please read the attached 2 page letter/form concerning teen volunteer training and encourage your students to participate.

October is Disability Awareness Month!

Does your child have learning and attention issues such as dyslexia, ADHD, auditory processing disorder or problems with executive function? You’re not alone—here on LD.org we represent a community of 60 million people. Share this video with friends and loved ones whose children or students are struggling with LD or related issues.

A mom found herself struggling to help her three children—all of whom have learning disabilities. She left this comment on our website:

“I often feel that it is a lonely and difficult road.”

Her words have been echoed by countless other parents of children with LD. They feel isolated in their efforts to support their kids. We know what you are going through…and we want you to know that you are not alone.

October is LD Awareness Month, and we’ve created a new video dedicated to you—to all parents of children with learning and attention issues. Please take a moment to watch it.
